With only 20 spaces available per day, this safari experience is exclusive, intimate, and personalised. Enjoy Inverdoorn’s pristine landscapes, spotting lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffalos, all in a conservation-first environment guided by expert rangers.
Your one day safari adventure begins with a morning pick-up from Cape Town, between 6:00 and 7:00 am, and includes transport directly to Inverdoorn’s boutique Karoo game reserve. All transport is coordinated within Cape Town’s CBD, making it easy and accessible for all guests.
Inverdoorn’s Day Trip Safari Schedule
- 06h00 – 07h00: Pick-up from Cape Town
- 10h00: Arrival at Inverdoorn, check-in, and enjoy welcome refreshments
- 10h30: Begin your Big 5 Game Drive, a 2-3 hour adventure across Inverdoorn’s 10,000-hectare conservancy
- 13h00: Enjoy a summer buffet lunch served by the cactus garden
- 13h30: Relax by the pool, browse the curio shop, or wander through the scenic cactus garden
- 15h00: Depart for Cape Town

Guided Big 5 Safari Game Drive
Experience a traditional big five game drive through Inverdoorn’s 10 000 hectare wildlife reserve. Our day trip safari guests will have the opportunity to see South Africa’s iconic Big Five animals, including the lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and the elusive Cape Mountain leopard.
Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve is also home to giraffes, zebras, hippos, caracals, meerkats, ostriches, eland, flamingos, oryx, springbok, kudu, cheetah, and over 150 native bird species.
Buffet-Style Safari Lunch with a View
Inverdoorn’s Signature Day Trip Safari offers guests a delightful outdoor Summer Lunch Buffet included in the experience. Depending on the weather and daily conditions, lunch will be served next to the lodge pool, amidst the succulent cactus garden, or at the lodge’s undercover boma.

After lunch, guests are encouraged to take a moment to explore Inverdoorn’s succulent Karoo cactus garden, swim in the lodge’s impressive pool overlooking the reserve, or peruse the curio shop before your scheduled departure back to Cape Town at 15h00.
