Your overnight big five safari at Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve welcomes you with refreshing drinks upon arrival. After you’ve settled into your choice of accommodation, guests are invited to enjoy lunch under the trees, followed by leisure time to enjoy the lodge’s five-star safari amenities and additional reserve activities, from horseback outrides to Karoo picnics, Safari High Tea, e-bike rides, and more.
At approximately 17h00, when the Karoo begins to cool and the afternoon sun begins to dip below the mountains, guests then embark on a big five safari in open-back, traditional game viewing vehicles. Led by experienced game rangers and field guides, Inverdoorn’s 2 to 3 hour game drives offer guests the exciting opportunity to see the big 5 animals: lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffalos, as well as giraffe, zebra, ostriches, cheetah, caracal, and many more native wildlife species. Weather dependent, overnight guests are encouraged to join our incredible Karoo Stargazing Experience after enjoying a delicious three-course dinner and impressive wine list under the wild and remote Karoo night skies.
In the morning, guests will enjoy incredible vistas of the reserve at sunrise before setting off on an early-morning game drive. Complimentary tea, coffee, and juice are served half-way through the morning safari. A highlight of the morning safari is the Cheetah Run Experience, where one can witness Inverdoorn’s rehabilitated cheetahs during their daily running exercise programme. Upon your return to the lodge, and before checking out, guests are invited to sit down to a luxurious breakfast spread surrounded by Inverdoorn’s succulent cactus garden, featuring traditional South African dishes and continental favourites.
