A valid booking is needed to enter Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve. Contact our booking team or book online to secure your entrance and accommodation.

Please note: Accommodation is quoted per person, per night. The number of guests admitted to the reserve is limited to the number or persons booked.

Guests are required to book at least 24 hours before their intended arrival. For those wanting to book less than 24 hours before their arrival, please contact our reservations team for assistance.

If you require Inverdoorn’s return transport service, bookings are subject to availability. Please Note: Availability can change by the hour. Especially in the summer and spring season, we strongly suggest you book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

The use of drones is not permitted. Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve is a wildlife conservation reserve and a natural, protected habitat. Drones disturb the birds and animals, so we respectfully request that no drones be used within the reserve.

Yes, Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve is malaria free.

Although the Western Cape and South Africa is Malaria-free, mosquitos are still active in the summer and spring months.

Kids are welcome at Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve. However, please note that Inverdoorn does not offer child entertainment services or child-friendly activities.

The rooms are intimate and have been designed for two adults sharing. Children under the age of 4 are also not allowed on Inverdoorn’s 4×4 vehicle safari game drives.

Inverdoorn Private Game reserve is renowned for it’s cheetah rehabilitation programme and cheetah breeding project — which oversaw the remarkable recovery of wild cheetahs in the Western Cape. 

As one 0f South Africa’s leading wildlife conservation reserves, Inverdoorn has built a solid reputation for sustainable tourism, both locally and internationally, due to the success and innovation of the cheetah rehabilitation programme — which has become synonymous with Inverdoorn’s conservation-focused business model.

The Cheetah Educational Tour, offered as an additional safari activity, provides guests with an in-depth educational tour of Inverdoorn’s cheetah rehabilitation centre.

Inverdoorn’s rooms are designed to comfortably accommodate 2 adults sharing. Room set-ups and beds are available in double or twin-sharing options, subject to availability.

  1. Once you have selected your preferred accommodation and have made your purchase, your booking will be reserved for the dates you requested.
  2. You will then receive a proof of payment, which will serve as your booking confirmation. This will contain the details of your booking and booking reference number. 
  3. If you have not yet added transport services to your booking and still wish to do so, please contact our reservations team as soon as possible.

No, not at this time. Overnight accommodation at Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve includes two guided safari game drives, per person. The game drives are included in your stay and are not able to be exchanged or swapped for another safari activity.

Guests are welcome to book one of Inverdoorn’s add-on safari activities, available only as an addition to an existing overnight booking.

Please note: Guests who do not wish to partake in the safari game drives, do so by their own choice. Game drives and inclusions are non-refundable and not able to be supplemented.

No, Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve does not offer self-drive safaris. All safari tours are led by a qualified guide in one of our 4×4 open safari vehicles.

For those wishing to book a private safari tour (up to 8 persons per vehicle), please enquire at reception or book with our reservations team before your arrival. Subject to availability.

At least 24 hours before arrival if you require transport to be supplied. Bookings are subject to availability. Availability does change by the hour. We would suggest you book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Our safari guides are very experienced, many having been with Inverdoorn for quite a while. They try spotting as many of the Big 5, as well as other animals indigenous to the land, as possible. We do know that for many of our guests, to see the big 5 is a once in lifetime experience, hence our rangers go the extra mile.

Any season and both morning and afternoon game drives offer  the same viewing potential.

FAQ: Facilities and Inclusions

Inverdoorn does not offer children’s facilities or child-friendly activities at the reserve. Although there is a spacious swimming pool for guests to use in the warmer months, we do not offer child-minding services or pool lifeguard services, and guests will be required to supervise children at all times.

Please note: Children under the age of 4 years old are not permitted on vehicle safari game drives at Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve.

The Karoo horse trails and e-bike tours have a minimum age restriction of 16 years old. Please enquire at reception for a full list of age restrictions and child-safety regulations.

Guests are reminded that Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve is located in the middle of a 10 000 hectare Karoo wildlife reserve.

And, although the reserve has free WiFi for guests to use, the signal can be unreliable (especially during bad weather). However, there is usually a strong enough connection to make necessary calls, use messaging apps, send or receive emails, and use social media platforms during your stay. 

For those looking for the best signal and Wifi strength in the reserve, Inverdoorn’s reception area is usually a safe bet.

Yes, Inverdoorn’s overnight rates include breakfast, lunch, and dinner, per person, per day. 

Please note: beverages are not included in our rates. 

Breakfast is usually served between 9h00 – 10h00.

To ensure the best experience and game viewing opportunities, Inverdoorn’s safari itinerary varies from season to season. However, breakfast is served after guests return from their early-morning game drives (09h00 – 10h00), allowing enough time to relax and enjoy a delicious meal before departing back to Cape Town.

Room service is not available. However, Inverdoorn’s rooms have complimentary tea and coffee stations provided for all guests. Snacks and beverages may also be purchased from the curio shop (located next to reception) between 9h00 and 17h00, daily.

Meals are only available at the indicated times on your safari itinerary. All meals are only available at the reserve’s designated dining areas. Meals are not able to be delivered to your room.

No. All rooms are non-smoking.

Inverdoorn has two bars that serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (subject to availability). The indoor bar is located inside the reserve’s dining area, and the outdoor bar is located next to the lodge’s succulent cactus garden, overlooking the breakfast boma.

Please note: Beverages (apart from welcome drinks upon your arrival) are not included in your rate. All drinks are purchased at an additional charge.

Inverdoorn does not have a ‘restaurant’ in the traditional sense, as all meals are included in your stay. However, the reserve has several indoor and outdoor dining areas, which are used throughout the year depending on the season and weather.

Please ENSURE you have NOT chosen Inverdoorn’s Head Office (located in Green Point) as your destination, but have instead chosen  Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve, which is located 2.5 hours outside of Cape Town’s city centre.

Yes, Inverdoorn has a spacious and secure car park available for all guests to use, free of charge. As the Karoo is known for it’s warm summer days, the car park also has shaded parking bays next to the reception area.

Yes, Inverdoorn offers return transport, private transfers, and standard shuttle transport services from Cape Town’s city centre.

  • Drive 150 km from Cape Town to Ceres.
  • Take the N1, turn onto the R43, then turn onto the R46.
  • Stay on R46 past Ceres.
  • Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve is 60 km outside of Ceres along the R356.
