Cheetah Education
Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve in South Africa is home to a cheetah rescue and rehabilitation centre, where visitors can learn more about Cheetah’s, gain access to a private cheetah viewing area, and gain valuable insight into the reserve’s resident cheetah population.
The Cheetah Educational experience includes a guided viewing of the cheetahs from an elevated zero-impact platform, as well as an educational tour from a distance or from a game viewing vehicle. Please note, all activities have a NO touching and NO interaction policy, to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals.
What to Expect
On the day of your Cheetah Educational experience, you will be met by a knowledgeable guide who will give you a brief introduction to cheetahs and the reserve’s conservation efforts. Your guide will take you on a private cheetah education tour, exclusive for those who have booked the additional safari activity, where visitors will have the chance to see the cheetahs and learn more about them.
Your guide will tell you all about the cheetahs’ biology, behaviour, and conservation status. You will also learn about Inverdoorn’s renowned cheetah rescue and rehabilitation programme, cheetah breeding project, and the important work our animal rescue staff are doing to protect these amazing big cats.
Tips for Visitors
- Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, as you will be doing a short walk.
- Especially in the summer, bring a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun.
- Bring a camera to capture all the amazing sights!
- Be quiet and respectful of the cheetahs. This is their home, and we are just visitors.
How to Book
The Cheetah Educational experience is available to book in advance or on the day, subject to availability. Led by an experienced guide and cheetah expert, the cheetah educational tour is about 45 minutes to 1 hour long, and the cost is R850, per person.
